Our Story

We met at church in 2021, bonding immediately over Jesus and farm stories, describing our ideal operations over tacos. From the first date, we knew our futures lay in each other and would evolve around agriculture.

Tyler grew up in Ohio and worked as a farmhand for several neighbors during high school and college. He traveled West to Montana and Colorado working with cattle and becoming a hunting guide for a little over a year before following in his family's footsteps and joining the military.

"I have dreamed of farming since I was three and always knew it's where my passion lay," says Tyler. He just didn't know at the time this dream would be lived out in Florida.

I (Kelsey) grew up on the family cattle operation, actively participating in local FFA chapters through high school. After college I immediately went to work for Amazon, traveling the county as the Senior Program Manager for North America warehouse development. When not traveling, most time was spent coming back to the farm to assist in hay season, penning cows, and fixing fence.

Immediately after our wedding, we developed a business plan combining both of our farming dreams and launched Waters Farms and Cattle LLC. We knew what we wanted to accomplish in beef and within our local communities and we were not going to waste any time in making this dream a reality.

To pour as much as possible into our business, we moved into a camper and got to work. We purchased property and reached a lease agreement for a portion of the family pasture.

Herd development was the next priority, focusing on increasing our Black and Red Angus herd to breed alongside the family Charlois bulls. We also began purchasing calves from the family operation to finish and have processed.

Feeding programs were next, identifying how and what we would provide to our animals, knowing regenerative agricultural was the ultimate goal to reduce grain requirements for our animals. We visited many local suppliers and dialed in on a feed consisting mostly of peanut, cotton seed hulls and barely. Then we located our processor, landing on a small family-owned operation that offered USDA inspections to ensure humane handling of our cattle.

And so, it began! We started with local farmers markets within Northeast and Central Florida to understand what consumers were looking for, learn from our neighbors, and begin networking with peers.

All of this ongoing, while still each working our full-time jobs alongside farming.

In 2024, after a year of operation, Tyler concluded his service after 6.5 years within the military and finally achieved his dream of full-time farming.

During this time, Tyler added pasture raised chickens to our operation for eggs and meat. He began looking into soil improvements at our personal property through rotational grazing programs. Tyler also partnered with a farmer and local processor to provide pork, expanding on our mission to impact local communities and small businesses.

In 2025, I too joined the full-time farming front. After nearly 8 years and gaining invaluable experience, I resigned from Amazon as a Program Manager traveling for work. It was time to apply focus at home with our farm and with Tyler.

We then rebranded to W.D. (Waters-David) Cattle Company.

Today, after 2 years, both Tyler and I are proud to say we are full-time W.D. Cattle Co. operators. And now, we are able to offer our product nationwide through our new shipping program. Pasture to plate, with beef a cut above.

We have defined our direction and expanded our operation from 2023 to today, diving deeper into regenerative farming practices for the livelihood of our cattle and for the land. Our partnerships continue to grow with fellow, like-minded farmers and we are able to give back to our communities we love so much through donations to various organizations.

We both believe in the power of transparency about what goes into our food and are open about our finishing and farming practices. We ensure our partners also follow our strict livestock lifestyle practices.

W.D. Cattle Co. is committed to providing the most natural product possible, ensuring cattle are 100% pasture raised during their lifetime and provided well-rounded non-GMO feed as needed. You won't find preservatives or saline injects in our beef, pork or chicken!

This is our mission, to impact communities through clean, quality food and good company while preserving the farming way of life!
